Call to review Licensing Law to protect residents

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Streatham Chris Nicholson has called for a review of the Government's licensing laws after recent problems caused by the Iroko and Telegraph bars on Brixton Hill and Bar Edo on Streatham High Road.

New Thameslink trains must go beyond Blackfriars

News that new carriages will be introduced on the Thameslink between Brighton and Bedford will come as cold comfort to passengers in Streatham, according to the area's Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman, Chris Nicholson.

Local Lib Dem demands rail fare freeze

Local Lib Dem Chris Nicholson was shocked to learn that all regulated rail fares from Streatham stations will rise by at least 6% in January. In the case of some fares on First Capital Connect services from Streatham Station it will be a whopping 9%.

Liberal Democrats support residents and parents in opposing Fenstanton School plans

"We will be supporting the campaign by local residents and parents at Fenstanton Primary School to oppose the building of a secondary school on their grounds" was the pledge from Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson Chris Nicholson after a meeting of Lambeth Council's Labour Cabinet had forced through plans to build on the school site on Monday evening.

Streatham Residents say "No!" to Police Station Closures

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Streatham Chris Nicholson this week handed in a petition to the Metropolitan Police Authority with 2200 signatures opposing plans to close Streatham and Cavendish Rd (Clapham) police stations.
